 Hockey Weekend Across America will be back in 2009. USA Hockey recently announced the dates for next year's festivities.
The action kicks off Feb. 13, 2009 and runs through Feb. 15. More updates and details will be released on this site soon. The 2008 event was a huge success. The second annual Hockey Weekend Across America, a nationwide initiative led by USA Hockey to celebrate the game and those involved in the sport at all levels and expose hockey to new audiences, will once again take place over President's Day weekend, running from Feb. 13-15, 2009.

The Skaneateles (N.Y.) Youth Hockey Association earned top honors in the Hockey Weekend Across America contest for best programming, it was announced today by USA Hockey.

Without the generosity of the late W.G. Allyn, the Skaneateles Youth Hockey Association wouldn't be celebrating Hockey Weekend Across America Feb. 15-17. That's because there wouldn't be an SYHA and a Skaneateles Figure Skating Club, let alone two rinks in this central New York town on the north end of Skaneateles Lake.
